On Tuesday, February 4 and Wednesday, February 5, the 2015 Huntsville Symphony Orchestra’s Young People’s Concerts were held at the Mark C. Smith Concert Hall of the Von Braun Center. These concerts are an annual educational event sponsored by Huntsville Symphony Orchestra Guild and other individuals and businesses in conjunction with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra. This year, we were grateful to have Dana Town and SEA Wire and Cable as sponsors. We always look forward to this special event as our desire is to bring music to all area children with the ultimate goal of instilling in them a lifelong love of this art. With that in mind, we’re pleased to announce that this year’s concerts were attended by over 7,000 fourth-graders!
Gregory Vajda, HSO Music Director and Conductor, led the orchestra members in a beautiful performance of Listen! Watch! Play! along with a special piece performed by the winner of the Young Artist Auditions, Joey Li.
Pre-concert entertainment was provided by the Academy for Academics and the Arts Orchestral Strings Program & The Valley Conservatory. Immediately following the concert, the students were treated to a delightful presentation by Randolph’s Young Voice Choir & Huntsville Ballet.
The Orchestra and the Guild invite all area schools to participate in this FREE educational program! For more information or if you’d like your school to participate, please contact us.
